Webel Technology Ltd, is a ISO 9001:2000 certified, professional Information Technology (IT) Solutions Provider company and a Government of West Bengal Undertaking. WTL is the Government appointed Nodal Agency for implementation of all IT and ITES projects of the state of West Bengal.

WTL was incorporated in April 2001 and has made profit every year till date. WTL's current turnover is around Rs. 30.00 Crores and is expanding every year. WTL has a staff strength of around 64 and operates out of a sprawling office space at Sector V, Salt Lake the IT Nerve centre of the state.

The company till date has executed major Projects in several departments of the State. Some of the major assignments and projects handled include, State Level Agency (SLA) of Chief Election Officer - West Bengal, Computerisation of West Bengal Police, Finance, Treasuries, Commercials taxes, Animal Resources Department, Backward Classes and School Education to mention a few.

WTL has implemented the West Bengal State Wide Area Network (WBSWAN) connecting the State Head Quarters at Writers Building and the Districts Magistrate's Office in all the districts on 2 mbps data, video and voice lines. Recently, the Department of Information Technology (DIT), Government of India, has awarded WTL Rs. 70.00 Crores for enhancing the WBSWAN and taking the connectivity to the Blocks of the state.

WTL has also implemented Wide Area Networking in all the 411 police stations and 52 Police Courts of the state. The company has implemented a Computer Literacy Program in 500 Schools of West Bengal successfully and is in their third year of operation.

Other major projects executed include, The Commercial Taxes Dept., covering 200 nodes on a failsafe DRS, Software for Monitoring Bovine Fertility and breeding at the Animal Resources Dept., WB etc.

WTL has a full fledged office in Ranchi which mainly looks after the Assignment as the SLA of CEO Jharkhandand. Other than that WTL has presence in Chattisgarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim , MP and Maharastra.

WTL has been appointed as the "IT Consultant" to the Prestigeous Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation (CMPFO), Dhanbad, for a period of two years. Other major customers of WTL include Coal India Ltd.m and Its Subsidiaries, BSNL and National Instittute for the Orthopaedically handicapped (NIOH) etc.
